Technological Society

Technology is at the forefront of my career, as I learned my senior year of high school. One of the most respected teachers in the Wyoming Valley West High School, English teacher Miss Dana Mascioli, launched a campaign in early 2007 to get state funding for Wyoming Valley West to participate in the Classrooms for the Future project. This integrated many classrooms with a laptop cart and a white board / projector combination. My intended major is English, with a minor in Education. Classrooms are becoming more and more technologically advanced by the day, so being well versed with aforementioned technology is important. As per the primary focus of my major, English, being well versed in trends in technology is critical for being a good contemporary writer. It is also exciting to watch Science fiction become reality. Video conferencing on Star Trek seemed far out ten years ago, but my laptop for school came video conferencing ready! It is definitely a wonderful time to be a college student, with hardware and software advancing by the minute.
